Job description
Seeking a Physical Security Programmer responsible for configuring and commissioning electronic security systems, including access control, video management, intercoms, intrusion detection, and related integrations. This role focuses on accurate programming, thorough testing, and proper documentation to meet customer and compliance standards., Program and configure access control systems (Genetec, LenelS2, Brivo, Openpath, etc.) Configure video management systems and cameras (Genetec Security Center, Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, etc.) Set up controllers, interface modules, readers, locks, inputs/outputs, and schedules Perform database setup (cardholders, access levels, partitions, badge templates, audit trails) Integrate hardware including intercoms, gate/door controllers, turnstiles, visitor systems, LPR, and alarms Troubleshoot system issues across software and hardware environments Partner with field technicians to test devices and complete commissioning Configure networking components (IP addressing, VLANs, routing, DNS, ports) Train end users on system functionality and best practices Produce documentation including programming sheets, as-builts, and test results Support system cutovers, upgrades, and post-installation needs (remote or onsite)
Requirements
Strong background in access control and CCTV systems Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnetting, switches, PoE) Experience with Windows environments, virtual machines, and SQL (preferred) Ability to read wiring diagrams and construction drawings Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Customer-facing experience with strong communication skills Manufacturer certifications (Genetec, LenelS2, Milestone, Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, HID) are a plus
