Job description

Build and maintain features across the frontend and backend
Collaborate with the mesonet team, partners, and other stakeholders to turn ideas into a polished user interface, new mesonet web products, and/or applications
Responsible for designing, developing, and deploying user interfaces, server-side logic, managing databases, configuring APIs, and ensuring overall application responsiveness
Responding to issues on a timely basis to ensure an uninterrupted flow of mesonet data to partners and stakeholders
Any other duties as needed at the request of the Mesonet Manager and/or Mesonet Executive Director

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and past work experience.
Front-end proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and experience with at least one modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
Back-end proficiency in Python, NodeJS, PHP, Rust, Java, and/or C++
Database management experience with SQL
Proficiency with version control (Git and GitHub) and ability to build APIs
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a collaborative environment, and a desire to learn new technologies are a must
Ability to work a flexible schedule
