Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Support Specialist to join our technology team! In this role, you will be the frontline hero for resolving technical issues, supporting our IT infrastructure, and ensuring seamless operations across various systems and devices.   • Manage and resolve customer support tickets efficiently using tools like ServiceNow or Jira, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
  • Support desktop environments including Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems by troubleshooting issues related to hardware, software, and user accounts.
  • Assist with computer management tasks such as Active Directory account administration, group policy management (GPO), and user access controls.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems involving LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, DNS configurations, TCP/IP protocols, and network hardware such as Meraki devices.
  • Support IT infrastructure components including servers (Windows Server), Active Directory management, SCCM for software deployment, and BMC Remedy for incident tracking.
  • Conduct equipment troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members on network administration tasks such as configuring TCP settings, firewall rules, DNS records, and LAN setups to maintain secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Assist in maintaining security protocols by supporting firewall configurations, VPN access management, and network security measures like Cisco Meraki solutions.
  • Participate in technical troubleshooting support for operating systems including Windows and macOS across various hardware platforms.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT support roles with a strong understanding of help desk systems like ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and desktop support procedures.
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting techniques.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows environments (Windows 10/11), Windows Server editions, Linux operating systems, and macOS devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues related to computer hardware components such as motherboards, RAM, storage devices, peripherals and mobile devices.
  • Experience managing Active Directory accounts along with GPO configurations for user access control.
  • Strong analysis skills to diagnose complex technical problems quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear guidance to users at all levels of technical proficiency.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure tools such as SCCM for software deployment and updates; familiarity with network administration practices is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
