Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our engineering team. Your expertise will drive project success from conceptual schematics through detailed design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency in designing and modeling of parts and assemblies in both SOLIDWORKS and Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD design environments., * Must be able to efficiently model components, generate complex assembly files and develop drawings of such, in accordance with company standard product lines/families.

  • Develops and evaluates product designs in conjunction with the Engineering Team to achieve optimum manufacturability and quality utilizing knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities and assembly methods.
  • Creates and/or updates designs based on customer requests/ Change Orders.
  • Develops drawings of tooling and/or jigs to facilitate manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Solid works & AutoCAD. Expert Proficiency & Experience required
  • Manufacturing environment experience required.
  • Automation experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experienced in General Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) as per ANSI Y-14.5.
  • Advance Math which includes Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry, Mechanic of Materials, and the use of calculators to perform complex calculations for error proofing/checking purposes.
  • Two (2+) years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidate must be mechanically inclined. Able to visualize concepts 3 dimensionally, in order to model them in Solid Works or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Five (5+) years of drafting/modeling experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Have excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit 6 - 8 hours a day
  • Must be able to walk 1 -2 hours a day
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in front of a computer monitor for 6 - 8 hours at least
  • Ability to hear alarms and audibly identify dangers or hazards when seldom required to go to production areas.
