Job description

  • Plan, test, and execute the migration of repositories, user permissions, issues, merge requests, and historical data from GitLab On-Premises to GitLab SaaS.
  • Audit our current infrastructure and fully codify it to ensure repeatable, documented deployments.
  • Refactor and optimize existing CI/CD pipelines to align with GitLab SaaS best practices, shared/private runners, and cloud-native workflows.
  • Re-architect access controls, secrets management, and user permissions to fit the SaaS model securely.

Requirements

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience as DevOps Engineer and experience managing and migrating GitLab instances, specifically transitioning from self-hosted/on-prem environments to GitLab SaaS to be considered for this role., * 5+ years of experience as DevOps Engineer.

  • Proven track record of managing and migrating GitLab instances, specifically transitioning from self-hosted/on-prem environments to GitLab SaaS.
  • Deep experience writing, debugging, and optimizing complex GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in codifying infrastructure using industry-standard tools (e.g., Terraform, OpenTofu, or CloudFormation).
  • Ability to execute migrations with minimal downtime, including dry-runs, data validation, and rollback planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Outstanding communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and drive to do great things.
