Job description
The VP of Portfolio Business Transformation is a senior leadership role responsible for driving, coordinating, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic transformation initiatives across the portfolio of companies. Acting as a central program manager, this individual partners closely with portfolio company leadership teams and the holding company to deliver high-impact operational, technological, and organizational improvements.
This role plays a critical part in scaling best practices, accelerating value creation, and ensuring consistency and rigor in how transformation initiatives are designed and executed across all portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities

M&A Integration Playbooks and Execution * Develop and continuously refine a repeatable M&A integration model for portfolio companies. * Define and manage pre-close and post-close integration playbooks, including: * Day 0 / Day 1 readiness * 30-60-90 day plans * Functional integration across GTM, product, finance, and operations * Support execution of integration efforts in partnership with portfolio company leadership. * Track integration milestones, synergies, and risk areas.

Cross-Portfolio Initiatives * Lead the rollout of standardized initiatives across all portfolio companies (e.g., NPS programs, KPI frameworks, reporting standards). * Coordinate execution with local teams while ensuring consistency and comparability of results. * Monitor adoption, performance, and continuous improvement of these initiatives.

Transformation Program Leadership * Serve as the program manager for major transformation initiatives across portfolio companies (e.g., new systems implementation, data platforms, Ai tools deployment across R&D, support, customer success, marketing). * Oversee projects end-to-end, including business case validation, vendor selection, implementation governance, and post-deployment optimization. * Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with value creation objectives. * Establish standardized program governance, reporting, and escalation mechanisms.

Technology Transformation & Vendor Oversight * Support portfolio companies in the evaluation and selection of technology platforms and implementation partners. * Provide oversight and governance for system implementations, including offshore and nearshore partners. * Establish best practices for vendor management, delivery quality, and cost control.

Tera Business System (TBS) Development & Deployment * Contribute to the definition and continuous evolution of the Tera Business System artifacts, standards, and maturity models. * Support portfolio companies in adopting TBS frameworks and progressing through maturity levels. * Monitor compliance and provide hands-on support to ensure successful implementation.

Operational Support to Portfolio CEOs * Act as a strategic partner to portfolio company executives, particularly in areas related to software operations, including: * Professional services * Customer support * Customer success * Help define operating models, KPIs, and reporting structures. * Provide hands-on support to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer outcomes.

Performance Management & Reporting * Define and track key SaaS operational and transformation KPIs across the portfolio. * Support the development of standardized dashboards and consolidated reporting. * Ensure data-driven decision making across initiatives and companies.
Requirements
- 8-10+ years of experience in SaaS, preferably in vertical SaaS environments
- Proven experience leveraging AI tools to help maximize operational productivity (code assisting tools, support chatbots, generative BI, budget management)
- Prior experience in a similar role, or as a COO, GM, or equivalent senior operator in a SaaS business
- Strong track record leading complex transformation initiatives (ERP, CRM, systems integration, operational scaling)
- Experience with M&A integration and post-merger value creation
- Deep understanding of SaaS operating models, KPIs, and best practices
- Experience managing cross-functional programs and stakeholders in multi-entity environments
- Familiarity with offshore/nearshore delivery models and vendor management
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
