Job description

At Siemens eMobility Charging, we are accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation through innovative EV charging infrastructure. As System Architect - EV Charging Systems, you will define the architecture of next-generation DC charging platforms used worldwide, driving innovation across hardware, software, power electronics, connectivity, cybersecurity, and energy management.

Your Mission

  • As the technical authority for EV charging systems, you will:
  • Define and govern the architecture of DC charging products.
  • Translate customer, market, and business needs into system requirements.
  • Lead architecture decisions, trade-off analyses, and technology roadmaps.
  • Align hardware, firmware, software, cloud, connectivity, and validation teams.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety, cybersecurity, and certification requirements.
  • Drive modularization, platform reuse, risk management, and system validation.
  • Represent Siemens in technical reviews, customer engagements, and strategic partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years in product development and 5+ years in system architecture or technical leadership roles.
  • Experience with EV charging, power electronics, energy systems, industrial automation, or related technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead complex multidisciplinary development programs.

Technical Expertise

  • Experience in several of the following areas:
  • EV charging systems and charging topologies.
  • Power conversion, rectifiers, and DC/DC converters.
  • High-power electrical systems and thermal management.
  • Embedded systems, real-time systems, and Embedded Linux.
  • Communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, MQTT, OCPP, and ISO 15118.
  • Requirements engineering, system integration, interface management, and architecture governance.
  • Compliance, cybersecurity, EMC, certification, and electrical safety.
  • Model-Based System Engineering experience is a plus.
