Job description

We are seeking a mission-driven, strategic Capital Raiser to lead capitalization efforts for our lending programs. You will cultivate relationships with institutional investors, banks, and philanthropic organizations to source debt, equity, and grant funding. Your work will directly expand our capacity to finance affordable housing, small businesses, and community facilities., * Capital Sourcing: Identify, cultivate, and solicit potential investors, including CDFI Fund programs, major foundations, and private financial institutions.

  • Deal Structuring: Collaborate with leadership to structure investments, grants, and financing agreements that meet investor requirements and organizational goals.
  • Investor Relations: Manage and expand a robust pipeline of current and prospective funders; maintain strong relationships through regular reporting and impact metrics.
  • Proposal Development: Write compelling grant proposals, pitch decks, and capitalization strategies that highlight the organization’s social and economic impact.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, capital raising in impact-focused organization or community development finance.
  • Network: Established network of contacts across philanthropic, government, and institutional funding sectors (e.g., CRA-motivated banks).
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial modeling, credit analysis, and debt or equity structuring.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into compelling impact stories.
  • The person will report to the SVP of Development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptionally detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of developing and implementing financial strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software systems.
  • High ethical and professional standards; self-directed, self-motivated, a collaborative team player, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel for professional development, service delivery and investor/partner events.
  • Must have an automobile, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
