Job description

Is responsible for retrieving, interpreting, and analyzing data to drive key business decisions and actions, measure program efficacy and contribute to strategic direction. Working with other teams across the Revenue Cycle, participates as a catalyst for maintaining the data life cycle. Focusing on system strategic goals and objectives, assist customers with formulating appropriate data questions that will lead to analyses which will reveal relevant insights. Cleans and prepares data for analysis, ensuring applicability to business need. Engages in data profiling of raw data. Applies appropriate techniques and programming languages (e.g. R, Python, SQL) to identify patterns and trends, while reaching out to senior level analysts for assistance when needed. Assist stakeholders with interpreting results, at times applying visualization techniques (e.g. Microsoft Power BI). Collaborates with developers and end users to ensure technical requirements and specifications reflect appropriate, * Assist customers with formulating appropriate data questions to meet business and strategic needs.

  • Ability to take a business question or need and turn it into a data question for the purpose of transforming and analyzing the data to extract an answer to that question.
  • Retrieve data from one or more sources and prepare the data for analysis.
  • Engage in data profiling of raw data, including but not limited to, health plan (i.e. claims), electronic health record, and third-party vendor data.
  • Identify patterns and trends in the data using appropriate techniques and programming languages.
  • Participate in data exploration activities for the purpose of finding interesting trends or relationships that could bring value to the business.
  • Develop skill set to create clean, visually compelling charts & visualizations that will help others understand the data and relevant insights.
  • Support the Revenue Cycle data and analytics strategy, processes, technical architecture, and design of subject areas.
  • Collaborate with developers and end users to ensure technical requirements and specifications reflect appropriate business logic.
  • Support system wide data integrity, quality control and standardization as identified by system leaders and/or system level teams

Work Experience:

  • 5 years Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, or Computer science or related field Required

Licenses:

  • Certified Health Data Analyst Upon Hire Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Math, statistical and analysis skills needed;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SQL query writing skills required;
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts desired;
  • Experience with R, Python & other languages required;
  • Strong teamwork/communication/customer service skills.
