This is an in-office position located in Bethlehem, PA.
The SOC Analyst will be a subject matter expert in the team as well as in the whole organization for analyzing IT security events, handling security incidents, and performing digital forensics. You will report to the global HYDAC SOC Team lead located in Germany. The position will require a yearly visit to HYDAC Germany and the possibility of other travel. With the HYDAC IT Department you will join an organization with flat hierarchies, high dynamics and quick decisions. You will become a member of a young and dedicated team.
You will make an impact in this role by:
- Triage, first categorization of potential security events
- Collection of data for further analysis
- Preparation of data for further investigation
- Documentation of cases and carried out tasks
- Forensic investigation of collected data and images.
- Complete and detailed documentation of investigations
- Collaborate on the implementation of immediate measures to minimize risk and initiate additional action if required
- Threat Hunting, active hunting of potential attacks using logging systems such as Elastic.
- Respond to anomalies in IT Systems and/or IT Infrastructure
- Report on a potential serious IT Security event to the IT Security organization
- Coordinate with internal IT teams and external Service providers for containment and remediation
- Assist in the development and ongoing refinement of use cases to identify potential attacks
- Help to further develop our approach to IT security processes and systems
Requirements
Key skills and attributes include:
- Strong knowledge of network security, operating systems, protocols, and attack techniques
- Skills in Programming Python or PowerShell are a plus
- Experience with ELK SIEM or similar tools like Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel,
- Experience with PA Cortex XSOAR, Tines or similar SOAR solutions
- Experience with Threat Intelligence platforms
- Familiarity with vulnerability management
- Curiosity in the field of IT security and forensic, * Successfully completed degree in computer science, IT security, engineering or comparable professional experience.
- SOC experience minimum 1 year
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)
