Job description
The EHR Systems Analyst is responsible for optimizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms through requirements analysis, system configuration, workflow improvement, custom form and template development, reporting, analytics, and application support. This role bridges clinical, operational, billing, and technical teams to improve documentation quality, reimbursement accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze clinical, operational, and technical requirements from stakeholders.
- Configure, build, test, and deploy EHR forms, templates, workflows, dashboards, and note types.
- Develop and optimize reports, analytics, and dashboards supporting clinical outcomes, billing, coding, compliance, and operational performance.
- Improve EHR workflows to enhance user experience, documentation accuracy, and reimbursement processes.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, upgrades, and application enhancements while maintaining data integrity and security standards.
- Support integrations, user access management, system monitoring, and application administration.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, SOPs, training materials, and change logs.
- Provide user training, technical support, and recommendations to improve adoption and system utilization.
- Collaborate with vendors and technical teams to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of information technology systems analysis experience.
- 5+ years designing and supporting complex business applications.
- Experience with enterprise EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, NextGen, Athena, eCW, Netsmart, or similar).
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7, FHIR, and CCD-A.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
- Experience with workflow analysis, system design, data integration, and application optimization.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders., * Expertise in EHR configuration, workflow optimization, reporting, analytics, and system support.
- Understanding of healthcare documentation, billing, coding, and revenue cycle processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with EHR implementations, upgrades, and application certifications.
- Background in healthcare operations, clinical workflows, revenue cycle, nursing, pharmacy, or physician documentation.
- Experience configuring EHR forms, templates, workflows, and reporting tools.
- Experience supporting regulated or enterprise IT environments.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and modern application architectures.
Benefits & conditions
- $98,900-148,300 per year
