Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a to support a U.S. Navy program in The team is seeking an experienced network engineer to design and implement VLAN architectures and support enterprise network engineering across layers 1-4. Details below:

  • Architect and deploy VLAN designs and network segmentation solutions to enhance security, performance, and scalability across enterprise environments.
  • Configure and maintain Layer 2 switching technologies, including trunking protocols and Spanning Tree configurations, to ensure resilient network connectivity.
  • Develop and implement IP addressing plans, subnetting strategies, and Layer 3 routing solutions to support efficient network operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues across OSI Layers 1 through 4 by analyzing physical infrastructure, connectivity, and protocol behaviors.
  • Configure, optimize, and support routing protocols, Access Control Lists (ACLs), Quality of Service (QoS) policies, and secure traffic management controls.
  • Conduct network performance monitoring, trend analysis, and capacity planning to support infrastructure growth, reliability, and future business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
  • IAT II certifications (one of the following): CySA+, Security+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP
  • Deep understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) and fiber/copper infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing VLAN and Layer 3 routing solutions.
