Job description
Position is responsible for implementing and maintaining district hardware, software, networking equipment, and other related devices. Has advanced knowledge of operating systems, network infrastructure, mass deployment strategies, security strategies, and productivity software. Assists in proper and efficient resolution of problems. Ensures resolution of end user problems and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction., Implements and maintains district hardware, software, networking equipment, and other related devices to ensure that district technology goals are achieved. Provides computing installation, configuration, and break fix services to faculty, staff, students, and administrative users.
Manages and maintains documentation for all locations including inventory of hardware, software, and other systems. Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of desktop, network topologies and deployment strategies. Use of software deployment tools to manage software installations throughout the district.
Works with technicians and other technical staff to identify and resolve problems. Shares information relevant to these problems with appropriate personnel.
Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction for all end users. Use communication appropriate to audience delivered in a friendly and courteous manner with a consistent positive attitude.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
Requirements
Must possess an Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field or high school diploma and formal industry certification in a technical field.
Minimum 2 years experience in IT, within an educational environment is preferred. Must possess extensive troubleshooting skills and a working technical knowledge of network/hardware/software systems within Microsoft Windows XP/7 and Apple environments. Must possess customer relations, time management, and communication skills.
Industry certification by Microsoft\Cisco preferred (required if candidate only has high school diploma). Must have and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
Technical/Analytical - Technician provides instruction/guidance. Independent technical expertise needed to assist technical.
Requires regular, frequent communication with internal technical personnel and department leadership.
Requires regular, frequent communication with school personnel, staff, district leadership, and vendors.
Organization skills; good decision-making skills; demonstrates working knowledge and expertise.
To maintain a safe, highly available, and efficient computing environment.
Normal office setting. Will require travel for school site visits.
Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Moderate lifting or carrying; fifty (50) lbs. or less.
About the company
NOTE: This is a Grade 23, 225-day position with a salary range of $46,625 - $71,831. Final salary placement within this range is determined based on individual credentials, years of relevant experience, and the guidelines outlined in the CCPS Compensation Handbook found here.
