Job description

Join us as our Head of Information Security and play a pivotal role in protecting, transforming, and enabling one of the UK’s most ambitious human digital banks. This role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, shape technology decisions, strengthen operational resilience, and build a security culture that supports innovation, growth, and customer trust.

Working directly with senior executives, Board committees, regulators, and technology leaders, you will help ensure security remains a business enabler as we continue our journey of digital transformation, cloud adoption, automation, and AI innovation.

What’s the Opportunity?

As Head of Information Security, you will lead the strategic and operational direction of information security across the Bank. You will be responsible for ensuring our security controls, frameworks, and capabilities remain proportionate, effective, and aligned with our business objectives, regulatory obligations, and risk appetite.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape long-term security strategy, influence major technology investments, oversee critical cyber defence capabilities, and provide trusted advice to executives and Board stakeholders. This is a highly visible leadership role where your expertise will directly influence the security, resilience, and future success of the Bank.

You’ll enjoy hybrid working, spending 3 days a week in our Central London office and 2 days working from home.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Define and deliver a pragmatic Information Security Strategy that supports the Bank’s growth, resilience, and regulatory objectives.
  • Act as the Bank’s senior security advisor, influencing strategic initiatives across cloud, automation, AI, and digital transformation.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Information Security team, fostering accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the Bank’s cyber defence capability, overseeing security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, vulnerability management, and technical assurance activities.
  • Strengthen governance frameworks, ensuring ongoing compliance with FCA, PRA, operational resilience, and industry security standards.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, translating complex cyber risks into clear business decisions and investment priorities.
  • Enhance third-party security oversight, ensuring suppliers and strategic partners remain aligned with the Bank’s security expectations.
  • Champion a strong security culture across the organisation, empowering colleagues to make informed, risk-based decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading Information Security within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of industry recognised frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
  • Experience leading Security Operations, cyber incident response, governance, and risk management activities.
  • Strong technical understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, enterprise infrastructure, and third-party security risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and challenge senior stakeholders, including Board and Executive audiences.
  • Strong commercial awareness, balancing risk management with business objectives and customer outcomes.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CCSP are highly desirable.
