Job description

We are looking for you to join our headquarters in Hamburg’s HafenCity in full-time (38.5 h/week)! BI Data Scientist (m/w/d) Your new job includes

As a BI Data Scientist (f/m/d), you will help build Commercial Data Science as a reliable and scalable basis for decision-making in Sales, Purchasing, and Commercial, and develop advanced data models, supplier value analytics, and scenario simulations for this purpose. In particular, you will

  • develop strategic commercial models to identify value drivers and support data-driven decisions in sales, purchasing, and commercial operations
  • provide advanced supplier and purchasing analytics, including supplier value models that go beyond purchase price to include margin contribution and growth potential
  • work with controllers to translate complex analyses into clear management recommendations, including options, assumptions, sensitivities, risks, and financial implications
  • develop commercial planning and scenario simulations to assess impacts on revenue, margin, and EBIT

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, business informatics, operations research, econometrics, industrial engineering, or a comparable quantitative field
  • Several years of professional experience in data science, advanced analytics, commercial analytics, BI/controlling analytics, or data-driven consulting, ideally with a strategic focus
  • Experience in developing data-driven decision-making frameworks for sales, commercial operations, or procurement-for example, regarding pricing, product assortment, margin management, supplier value, or growth drivers.
  • A solid understanding of modern data platforms and analytical modeling, combined with the ability to translate technical solutions into scalable business applications.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, ideally from retail, travel retail, FMCG, or a similarly dynamic retail environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to translate complex analyses in a way that is tailored to the audience
  • Fluent German and English
