Job description
A major data center developer is scaling fast - right now, a hyperscale campus in Dallas with multiple structures being expedited simultaneously. This isnāt a project where youāll be one of dozens of engineers lost in the shuffle. Youāll be one of a small, high-impact team on the ground, working directly with GC and OFCI partners to make sure commissioning gets done right, on time, at scale.
If youāre the kind of person who solves problems instead of just flagging them, who takes ownership without being asked twice, and whoās not afraid to speak up when somethingās off - this is built for you.
What Youāll Do
- Own commissioning execution on-site at a large-scale, multi-building data center campus
- Oversee and direct Commissioning Agents in the field - this is a hands-on, in-the-field role, not a desk job
- Coordinate daily with General Contractor and OFCI (Owner-Furnished, Contractor-Installed) partners to keep equipment integration and system turnover on schedule
- Be the person who catches issues before they become delays - extreme ownership is part of the job description, not a buzzword
- Travel to support other active campuses when needed (up to ~40%, fully expensed) while based primarily at this site
Requirements
- Data center commissioning experience strongly preferred - the pace, sequencing, and pressure of hyperscale builds is different from other construction, and that experience matters here
- Open to candidates with large-scale mission-critical or major retrofit experience even without direct data center background
- A ādoerā mindset, this is an individual contributor role for someone who wants to be in the field solving problems, not managing a team or advising from the sidelines
- Comfort operating in high-tempo, high-stress environments with long hours (early starts, late finishes) during critical project phases - there are flexabilities during downtime - work life balance is very important to them
- Thick skin and steady composure, this role runs hot, and staying level-headed under pressure is a must, * Do you have experience commissioning levels 3-5 on Data Centers?
