Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Microsoft Security Engineer to join our clients growing cybersecurity team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft’s security technologies to help protect modern cloud-first environments.

You’ll play a key role in strengthening our clients’ security posture by deploying and optimising the full Microsoft Security stack, responding to security incidents, and driving security best practices across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.

Working remotely from anywhere in the UK, you’ll collaborate with technical consultants, infrastructure teams, and customers to deliver secure, resilient, and well-governed Microsoft Security solutions., * Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft security solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.

  • Configure, manage, and optimise Microsoft Sentinel as a SIEM and SOAR platform.
  • Deploy and administer Microsoft Defender XDR, including:

  • Defender for Endpoint
  • Defender for Office 365
  • Defender for Identity
  • Defender for Cloud Apps
  • Defender for Cloud

Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents.

Create and tune analytics rules, workbooks, hunting queries, and automation within Microsoft Sentinel.

Configure Microsoft Entra ID security features, including Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Implement Zero Trust security principles across Microsoft environments.

Conduct security assessments and recommend improvements aligned with Microsoft’s best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Security ecosystem.
  • Proven experience administering Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) security.
  • Experience implementing Conditional Access and identity governance.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Experience investigating security incidents and analysing logs.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure security architecture.

Certifications (Not essential)

  • Microsoft Certified, Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
