Job description

The ideal candidate will have proven experience deploying and scaling Unity Catalog (UC) in large enterprise environments, along with deep expertise in data governance frameworks and tools. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure, well-governed, and high-performance data governance and management environment across the organization. Your Impact as Data Governance Platform Engineer: What are you going to do

  • Manage and innovate the Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra Data platforms used across the company within the focus area of Data Governance.
  • Facilitate the use of these platforms, providing support and maintaining communication with data engineers and other technical stakeholders, enabling them to create innovative data solutions and products with our Data Governance solutions.
  • Implement data lineage tracking, audit logging, and access monitoring, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Enable self-service data access capabilities in line with business needs and data protection standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate Unity Catalog with other data governance and management tools (e.g., Collibra, RDM etc.).
  • Pro-actively enhance the infrastructures availability and stability, which includes monitoring and reliability management tasks and develop and deploy automations through CI/CD pipelines on Azure Cloud.
  • Carry out Operations & Service Delivery including Change Management, Configuration Management, Life-cycle Management (LCM), and solving complex incidents and problems.

Requirements

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and thinking level.
  • 5+ years of experience in data platform engineering or data governance roles in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks Unity Catalog, including configuration, automation, and policy enforcement.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Solid understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of data access patterns, RBAC/ABAC models, and security best practices for cloud data platforms.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrably developed problem-solving ability.
  • Collaboration skills and you are a good communicator
