Job description

As a Data Platform Engineer in the Data Factory Platform you design, build, and maintain scalable data platform solutions on Azure. You work with technologies such as Azure ADLS, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Terraform. Together with cross-functional teams, you develop and implement data-driven solutions that directly support business and regulatory needs, ensuring reliable and high-quality data for key processes., Together with your colleagues, you maintain and further develop the Data Factory Azure Platform according to best practices, ensuring it is as efficient to use as possible. Your focus includes infrastructure, automation and orchestration, monitoring, performance optimization, and full alignment with security and compliance standards. By developing, introducing, and automating new components, you deliver solutions you can be proud of and create a solid foundation for future developments. This aligns with the organization’s digital transformation journey, and a key milestone for 2026 is the migration to the OneBankDAP infrastructure., * Design and implement data platform solutions on Azure cloud using tools like Azure ADLS, Azure Databricks, ADF, and Terraform.

  • Configure and optimise cloud-based data storage and processing solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data platform solutions to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and cloud computing.
  • Be familiar with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

The team you’ll join:

You will be part of the Data Factory Platform team within the Risk domain of NN Bank. In this role, you work closely with several key data teams and provide them with reliable, secure, and scalable data platform services:

  • Data Factory, responsible for the formal data chain and reporting across the bank.
  • FRT Lake, containing sources such as Treasury, WoonNu mortgages, and general Finance & Risk data.
  • Model Factory, which offers a platform for machine-learning model development.
  • Calm/PX, providing vendor applications running on Azure Cloud and Kubernetes.

Requirements

You are a passionate platform engineer with a strong background in Azure cloud services, and you have the consultancy mindset to always keep learning, improving and identifying opportunities and take actions. You are a real team player with a hands-on attitude and flexibility to deal with changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in data engineering.

  • Proficiency in deploying and managing Azure services, virtual networks, storage solutions, and security mechanisms.
  • Strong experience in designing and building data platform solutions on Azure cloud using tools like Azure ADLS, Azure Databricks, ADF and Terraform.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or Spark and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Nice to have: Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Azure DevOps Engineer are preferred.
