IT Support Specialist

This role will support efforts to enhance system performance, security, and scalability, while mentoring junior staff and working with cross-functional teams to deliver dependable technology solutions.

This position is responsible for supporting the local Information Systems operations. Provide technical support for the Cisco LAN infrastructure, VMware environment, Windows servers, desktops, laptops, printers, software, custom applications, and telecom systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions)

· Support IT operations on the manufacturing floor.

· Provide daily technical support to end users to meet hardware and software needs.

· Manage the PC lifecycle, including configuration, deployment, support, and collection of personal computer equipment.

· Monitor and inventory hardware and software licensing.

· Manage and monitor the VMware environment.

· Aid with end-user applications and manufacturing systems as required.

· Facilitate the installation of new software and upgrades.

· Provide remote support for the hardware and software needs of off-site users.

o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems or related field

o 1 to 3 years of experience in personal computer hardware and operating systems software

o Must be adaptable to working in manufacturing and office environments

o Must be able to work from the Portland, MI, manufacturing facility 5 Days a week

o Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to changing schedules and demands

o Excellent interpersonal skills when working with internal and external customers

· Preferred

o Programming experience with databases and data structures

o MCSE certification
