The DBP Architect is responsible for defining and operationalizing architecture blueprints for Digital Business Platforms (DBPs) R&D&R (Research & Development & Regulatory) within a specific functional area or technology domain. This role ensures alignment with Global Process Owners (GPOs), Digital Offices, and Enterprise Architecture (EA) governance while driving harmonization, innovation, and integration across business and IT landscapes. As a DBP Architect, you will be part of the R&D&R Digital team and report into the DBP Business Lead. You will be part of an enthusiastic team, consisting of IT Solutions Architects, Product and Portfolio teams. In addition, you will also be part of the R&D Digital Leadership Team to ensure full alignment across our matrix., Architecture & Design Define DBP-specific domain architecture blueprints for functional areas or technologies in close alignment with R&D&R team including GPOs. Design and document domain architecture solutions, ensuring integration of business processes, value streams, and information flows across DBPs. Maintain an integrated view of business architecture (processes, value streams) within the domain. Act as functional design authority within DBPs, owning business capability mapping aligned with GPOs and Digital Offices. Ensure DBP solutions fit within the broader enterprise architecture and co-create foundational guidance with IT Enterprise Architects. Conduct thorough analyses of current business processes and systems to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities using value stream mapping. Governance & Compliance Ensure adherence to standards, frameworks, tooling, and processes in DBP specific projects. Operationalize architecture principles, standards, and blueprints within the domain. Conduct monthly and quarterly reporting on EA principles, standards, guidelines, and DBP-specific KPIs, including deviations. Performance & Metrics Manage technical performance using KPIs such as Technical Debt, Lifecycle Management, Product and Platform Roadmaps, and EA KPIs. Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor DBP and EA effectiveness and recommend improvements. Identify risks and create mitigation plans leveraging EA frameworks (e.g., TIME analysis, Technical Debt Score). Collaboration & Leadership Work closely with GPOs, DBP leads, and stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, ensure alignment, and drive technology harmonization and innovation. Collaborate with senior management to define strategic goals and objectives. Lead a team of IT Solution Architects to achieve DBP architecture goals while enforcing EA guidelines and standards. Serve as the primary liaison for domain-specific architectural concerns. Develop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth transitions during business transformations.
Requirements
You have a relevant university degree in the field of Information Technology. You have at least 10 years of experience in IT or (business) related discipline. R&D Experience preferred. You have experience in leading global cross-cultural and multidisciplinary teams and the associated change management. You are familiar with modern technologies and trends. You are certified in architecture frameworks and modeling languages, TOGAF and/or ArchiMate. Advanced level of English You are familiar with standard business process frameworks, such as APQC, SCOR, Agile or ITIL To be successful in our dynamic, changing environment in which you have the ability to grow with the company’s aspirations, you must be able to operate with a high degree of freedom and independence in working. You have a communicative, innovative and customer-oriented personality and good problem-solving and analytical skills.
