As a GIS Specialist, you will be joining XTS’s highly capable and collaborative Geospatial Technical Services team supporting the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and their Seamless 1 Meter (S1M) Digital Elevation Model development efforts. In this fully remote, entry-level role, you will be applying your strong knowledge of geospatial and cartographic concepts and data, receive professional hands-on experience with the ArcGIS software suite, and be an adaptable teammate in a collaborative work environment.
To be considered for this position, the desired candidate must demonstrate:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of GIS and cartographic concepts
- Includes geospatial data, coordinate systems, spatial databases, geoprocessing, etc.
- Includes scale, features, data integration, symbolization, etc.
- Previous experience with LiDAR, global mapper, or ArcGIS Pro is not required, but is a plus
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of technical staff both in person and remotely
- Clear, concise, timely, and accurate communication and ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and produce quality deliverables
- Ability to be analytical and apply problem solving skills and use critical thinking skills
