CRIMINOGENIC PROGRAMMING SPECIALIST

The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is seeking a Criminogenic Programming Specialist to work under the direction of the Programming Administrator. This position is integral to the implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of criminogenic programming at the Adobe Mountain School facility. The Criminogenic Programming Specialist ensures evidence-based practices are effectively integrated into programming designed to reduce recidivism and address youth needs, including but not limited to treatment groups such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Aggression Replacement Training (ART) and case planning. As a subject matter expert, the specialist provides training, guidance, and support to caseworkers and other facility staff to enhance program delivery and ensure alignment with best practices and departmental objectives. Job Duties:

Program Oversight and Quality Assurance: Monitor the delivery of criminogenic programming, including planning and implementation of corrective actions, to ensure fidelity to evidence-based models. Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.

Staff Training and Development: Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on criminogenic programming principles, techniques, and curriculum. Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff to enhance their competency in program delivery. Serve as a resource for staff, answering questions and addressing challenges related to program delivery.

Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with caseworkers, supervisors, and other staff to support the delivery of criminogenic programming. Work with mental health clinicians to align programming with overall rehabilitative efforts when appropriate. Participate in team meetings to address challenges and improve program implementation. Build strong relationships to ensure programs meet the needs of youth and follow best practices.

Data Collection and Reporting: Track relevant program delivery, participation, and outcomes. Analyze data to identify trends, needs, and areas for improvement. Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on programming impact and recommendations.

• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, track outcomes, and meet deadlines., A bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of direct experience working with criminogenic programming or evidence-based rehabilitation programs targeting offender behavior and recidivism reduction. Proven experience in developing, managing, and evaluating programs, with an emphasis on reducing recidivism and addressing criminogenic needs. Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function on the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license records checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.010).
