Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a to support a company focused on delivering enterprise IT, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and mission-critical systems support for the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This position is . The will establish and mature configuration management processes from the ground up while supporting service reliability, operational resilience, and enterprise infrastructure management.

  • Design, implement, and mature enterprise Configuration Management processes aligned with ITIL v4 best practices.
  • Develop and maintain Configuration Items (CIs), dependencies, baselines, and configuration lifecycle management.
  • Implement and integrate CMDB, discovery, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions across enterprise environments.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, security, and service management teams to improve reliability, incident response, and change enablement.
  • Establish governance, policies, procedures, reporting metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives that support service reliability and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 3-6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Network Operations, Configuration Management, DevOps, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure environments supporting on-premises, cloud, or hybrid architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Configuration Management processes, CMDB solutions, Infrastructure-as-Code, or enterprise automation initiatives.
  • Experience with technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Git, Linux, Microsoft environments, Splunk, Tenable, or comparable automation and configuration management tools.
  • Strong process development, technical documentation, dependency mapping, risk assessment, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish new processes, enforce standards, and drive operational improvements across technical teams.
