Job description

My client is seeking a People Systems Analyst to join their team. Reporting to the HR/People Systems Lead you will have core responsibilities around the configuration, design and development of Workday HCM in Partnership with the rest of the people systems team. You’ll manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, whilst effectively managing prioritising assignments and working to strict deadlines. You will support various implementations and improvements of projects across the modules and the globe. You will:

  • Take ownership of the configuration, maintenance, and ongoing administration of Workday HCM, developing and enhancing business processes while providing guidance and support to the People team, managers, and employees on system functionality and best practice.
  • Play a key role in the continued optimisation of the Workday environment following the tenant consolidation, helping to improve process consistency, data quality, and alignment across the merged organisation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate People processes, reducing manual administration and driving greater efficiency across systems and workflows.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements, assess business needs, and deliver effective Workday solutions that support operational objectives.
  • Coordinate the investigation, prioritisation, and resolution of system issues, enhancements, and user support requests, working collaboratively with the wider People Systems team.
  • Assist with Workday’s biannual release cycle, including evaluating new functionality, completing testing activities, implementing changes, and supporting user communication and training.
  • Promote strong system governance by maintaining appropriate security settings, ensuring compliance with access controls, and safeguarding data accuracy within Workday.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Workday reporting capabilities, providing meaningful insights and supporting data-driven decision-making for the People function.
  • Contribute to the delivery of Workday-related projects across multiple modules, supporting activities from requirements gathering and configuration through to testing, user training, and implementation.
  • Fulfil all Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) responsibilities associated with the role.
  • Escalate any identified compliance concerns or breaches to your line manager in a timely manner.
  • Proactively challenge processes, initiatives, or policies that may introduce compliance risks or negatively impact regulatory obligations across the Group.
  • Complete all required compliance training within the designated timeframes.
  • Seek guidance from the Compliance team whenever requirements, obligations, or regulatory expectations are unclear.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ practical experience working with Workday in a live operational environment following implementation.
  • Strong functional expertise across a range of Workday modules, including HCM, Absence, Benefits, Talent, Learning, Advanced Compensation and Time Tracking.
  • Good knowledge of Workday configuration, including business processes, security frameworks, and reporting functionality.
  • Proven ability to gather, interpret, and translate business requirements into effective and scalable Workday solutions.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across both technical and non-technical teams.
  • A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, with a willingness to challenge existing processes and identify more effective ways of working.
  • Previous involvement in a Workday implementation project or tenant consolidation/merge would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Workday tools and functionality such as EIBs, calculated fields, and integrations from a functional perspective.
  • Sound understanding of core HR processes and how they are reflected within system configuration and design.
  • Experience supporting Workday’s twice-yearly release cycle, including impact analysis, testing activities, and the rollout of new functionality.
