Job description

  • Support the NiFi Team: Learn and apply Apache NiFi concepts, monitor dataflows, review processor statuses, check queues, identify errors, and assist in troubleshooting.
  • Health and Status Monitoring: Act as the focal point for health and status flows by tracking dataflow availability, monitoring system status, identifying issues, and escalating them to the appropriate technical teams.
  • Customer Onboarding Coordination: Aid in the onboarding of new customer systems by meticulously tracking requirements, data sources, connection details, action items, blockers, schedules, and milestones.
  • Communication and Documentation: Collaborate with customers and internal teams to gather onboarding information, provide status updates, document progress, and ensure all open items are followed through to completion.
  • Organizational Support: Maintain clear and organized onboarding trackers, status reports, documentation, and runbooks to provide leadership, customers, and technical teams with visibility into progress.
  • Dataflow Validation: Support basic dataflow validation by confirming that customer data is received, processed, routed, and delivered as expected.

Requirements

As part of our Secure the Enterprise initiative, we are seeking a motivated Junior NiFi Engineer to help transition our current manual system security evaluation and authorization process into a cutting-edge automated model. This role emphasizes streamlined processes, continuous monitoring, and comprehensive data gathering throughout the project lifecycle., * Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of Apache NiFi or a strong willingness to learn about NiFi dataflows, processors, queues, controller services, bulletins, and monitoring techniques.

  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organization and communication abilities, capable of managing multiple customers, tracking requirements, action items, blockers, and milestones effectively.
  • Monitoring Experience: Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, CloudWatch, NiFi dashboards, or other operational status tools.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic Linux familiarity, strong technical aptitude, and a willingness to learn about application support, data engineering, cloud operations, and production troubleshooting.

Desired Skills:

  • Exposure to Apache NiFi, Cribl, Kafka, Logstash, or similar dataflow/pipeline tools.
  • Experience in customer onboarding, system integration, ticket tracking, help desk, or production support operations.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, CloudWatch) and programming/scripting languages (Python, Bash, Groovy) is a plus.
