Job description

tango is a leader in the home care health management industry and is preparing for significant growth! We are looking for a Scrum Master to join our team.

The scrum master will oversee and guide scrum teams. The scrum master’s responsibilities include ensuring that development teams follow scrum framework values and agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments.

To be successful as a scrum master, you should have a firm grasp of agile practices and the ability to effectively manage and mentor development teams. An outstanding scrum master should have excellent interpersonal, project management, and problem-solving skills.

What You Will Own

  • Delivery accountability for three to four scrum teams spanning onshore and offshore engineers, including sprint predictability, cycle time, and release readiness.
  • Cross-team dependency management across platform, QA automation, EDI, FHIR, and production support workstreams.
  • Risk surfacing. You escalate early, with data, and with a recommended path. Silence is the failure mode we are hiring against.
  • Coaching engineers, product owners, and managers on agile practice, not just enforcing it. You raise the ceiling of the teams you touch.
  • Azure DevOps as a system of record. Board hygiene, query design, dashboards, and reporting that leadership actually trusts.
  • Release planning and capacity forecasting in partnership with engineering leadership.
  • Continuous improvement with evidence. Retrospectives produce committed actions with owners and dates, and you track them to closure.
  • Executive-ready status communication. You translate team-level detail into decisions leadership can make.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in agile delivery roles, with 5+ years as a Scrum Master supporting software engineering teams.
  • Proven track record running distributed teams, including offshore or vendor partner coordination.
  • Deep, hands-on Azure DevOps expertise: boards, backlogs, queries, wikis, dashboards, and process customization.
  • Fluency with agile metrics and the judgment to know which ones matter and which ones get gamed.
  • Experience in healthcare, payer, or another regulated domain where compliance and audit trails are non-negotiable. Highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across engineering, product, and executive stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity. Our roadmap moves. You bring order without demanding certainty that does not exist.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM II, or equivalent). SAFe certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience with prior authorization, EDI, FHIR, or clinical workflow systems.
  • Background as an engineer, QA lead, or business analyst before moving into agile delivery.
  • You have eliminated a process that was not delivering value, rather than simply adding another one.
  • You measure your own effectiveness and can tell us how.

Benefits & conditions

  • Servant leadership. Your job is to make the team faster, not to be the loudest voice in the room.
  • Truth over comfort. We would rather hear bad news early than good news late.
  • Outcomes over ceremony. If a meeting is not creating value, we change it or kill it.
