Job description

The successful candidate will lead electrical inspection and testing activities, coordinate commissioning support, manage test documentation and oversee safe isolation procedures. The role will also involve supporting client witnessing, energisation and final project handover., * Lead and coordinate electrical testing activities across the project.

  • Supervise electrical testers and allocate daily testing workloads.
  • Carry out and oversee dead and live testing of LV electrical installations.
  • Plan testing activities with the electrical management and commissioning teams.
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, cable schedules and technical specifications.
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning and energisation activities.
  • Coordinate client, consultant and third-party witnessing of electrical tests.
  • Produce, review and complete electrical test packs and certification.
  • Ensure test results are accurate, traceable and correctly recorded.
  • Identify defects, incomplete works and testing non-conformances.
  • Coordinate remedial works, retesting and final close-out.
  • Ensure all test equipment is suitable, calibrated and maintained.
  • Lead and enforce Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Lead or support the project Electrical Safe System of Work.
  • Manage electrical isolations, permits and safe energisation procedures where authorised.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, RAMS, ITPs and current electrical regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Lead Electrical Tester, Senior Electrical Tester or Electrical Testing Supervisor.
  • Data centre, mission-critical, industrial or large commercial project experience.
  • Strong experience testing LV distribution systems and electrical installations.
  • Experience with switchgear, distribution boards, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS equipment and busbar systems.
  • Experience producing electrical test packs, certificates and handover documentation.
  • City & Guilds 2391-52, 2391-50/51 or an equivalent inspection and testing qualification.
  • Current ECS/JIB Gold Card and BS th Edition qualification.
  • Strong understanding of LOTO, electrical isolations, ESSW, commissioning and energisation procedures.

SSSTS, SMSTS, Authorised Person, Appointed Person or electrical switching experience would be advantageous.
