Job description

Rowan University seeks a dynamic new team member to support the continued growth and visibility of the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE). Reporting to the RCIE Director, the RCIE Programs and Engagement Coordinator will support the planning, coordination, promotion, and delivery of Rowan’s core entrepreneurship programs, events, outreach initiatives, and curricular and co-curricular offerings.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team working to expand access to entrepreneurship across Rowan University and the broader community. The successful candidate will help create meaningful experiences that inspire entrepreneurial thinking, connect new audiences to RCIE resources, and elevate the center’s reputation on campus and beyond.

The RCIE Programs and Engagement Coordinator will:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact between students, faculty, staff, community members, and RCIE.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute RCIE’s existing portfolio of events and programs, including pitch competitions, speaker events, mentorship hours, makerspace workshops, community programs, and other regularly scheduled initiatives, while helping develop new opportunities.
  • Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts to highlight RCIE events, initiatives, student stories, and impact through class visits, emails, videos, monthly newsletters, social media, event flyer creation, and posting to university platforms like StartUpTree and ProfLink.
  • Support and implement creative outreach strategies that engage new student audiences, broaden participation in programs, and strengthen the visibility of RCIE across campus and beyond.
  • Oversee student workers for RCIE and its learning labs and makerspace, including recruiting, training, scheduling, task delegation, and ongoing support.
  • Collect and organize key RCIE impact metrics for assessment, rankings, engagement, and related needs.
  • Manage event, workshop, and lab-related materials, supplies, and inventory for RCIE and its learning labs and makerspace, and help ensure spaces remain organized, welcoming, program-ready, and safe.
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings throughout the year, including scheduling, logistics, agendas, and meeting minutes.
  • Schedule and support integrated RCIE modules and activities in entrepreneurship courses.
  • Represent RCIE at campus and community events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • One year of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience planning, organizing, promoting, and executing events.
  • Experience supporting outreach, engagement, communications, or community-building efforts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Google Calendar, Canva, and social media platforms.
  • Schedule flexibility, as some nights and weekends are required for event support.
  • Ability to travel, as some travel may be required., * Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, entrepreneurship, or a field directly related to the essential functions of the job.
  • Background in the startup sector, higher education, or entrepreneurial ecosystems.
  • Experience developing content, telling stories, or promoting programs across digital platforms.
  • Experience working with and/or leading student groups and programs.
  • Experience recruiting and/or coordinating with high-level event speakers, advisory board members, community partners, or external stakeholders.

  • Paid holidays, In compliance with The State of New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is AFT: Range 18 ($57,072 Min to $65,629), with placement within the range determined by candidate’s qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.

For internal applicants, salary is determined per the Pay Adjustment formula (NJAC 4A:3-4.9 & 4.10).

For eligible employees, benefits include: comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse, and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro. (Tuition reimbursement will apply to undergraduate degrees only for spouse and dependents).

During the 2025-2026 academic year, RCIE delivered more than 135 programs, events, competitions, generating 2,300+ student swipe-ins and helping 580+ students develop actionable business plans. Graduates who engaged with Rowan’s entrepreneurship center have gone on to raise more than $37 million over the past ten years.
