Job Summary: Senior Java Developer (GCP) - Contract

Columbus, OH (Remote/Onsite) About the Role Join a high-performing engineering team as a Senior Java Backend Developer focused on building scalable, secure, and resilient microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Collaborate with technology leaders to deliver enterprise-grade APIs and event-driven cloud-native applications using cutting-edge Java technologies. Gain exposure to modern DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and observability tools while driving impactful business solutions in a dynamic and innovative environment. Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud - Architect and implement cloud-native applications leveraging GCP services such as GKE, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Run - Build event-driven systems with Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud, and asynchronous messaging patterns - Integrate with MongoDB Atlas, SQL databases, and enterprise data, platforms ensuring high availability and scalability - Develop, optimize, and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Terraform - Apply Infrastructure as Code principles to manage and deploy cloud infrastructure - Implement robust testing strategies including unit, integration, contract, and performance testing - Ensure observability with centralized logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and GCP tools - Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, architects, and business partners to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable solutions - Mentor team members and advocate for best practices in application architecture and cloud-native development Required Skills and Experience - 7+ years software development experience building enterprise applications and APIs - 5+ years Java development with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Maven, and Gradle - Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform

Requirements
