Job description

As a Data Center Operations Technician, you will serve as the primary hands-on expert responsible for the physical integrity and deployment of critical server infrastructure. You will ensure maximum uptime and system reliability by executing precise hardware installations, performing rigorous equipment inspections, and resolving physical connectivity challenges within a high-density environment. Responsibilities

  • Execute physical rack-and-stack deployments, ensuring all hardware is securely mounted and integrated.
  • Conduct comprehensive visual and mechanical inspections of cabling, power connections, and server components to guarantee operational readiness.
  • Perform rapid physical remediation and component replacement to minimize hardware-related downtime.
  • Document all maintenance activities, capture technical evidence, and update ticketing systems to maintain accurate asset records.
  • Execute complex technical tasks by strictly adhering to established Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs).
  • Collaborate with remote engineering teams and senior technicians to escalate logical software issues that require advanced intervention.
  • Maintain strict compliance with data center security protocols, change-management policies, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in hardware installation, rack integration, or server deployment.
  • Strong technical aptitude for troubleshooting physical hardware and cabling infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in following detailed technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to maintain accurate logs, capture test results, and provide clear project status updates., * Familiarity with data center change control processes and escalation workflows.
  • Experience working in 24/7 mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
  • Prior experience with large-scale rack-level cabling and hardware maintenance.
