Server & Infrastructure Technician (Tier III)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Server & Infrastructure Technician (Tier III) to join our dynamic IT team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing complex server and infrastructure environments, ensuring seamless operation, security, and scalability. Your expertise will drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions, support critical systems, and troubleshoot advanced technical issues. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including virtualization, cloud platforms, automation tools, and enterprise-grade hardware, all while maintaining a proactive approach to system reliability and performance., * Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of server infrastructure across physical and virtual environments using VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud services such as AWS and Azure.

• Manage system architecture components including RAID controllers, storage management solutions, and backup/recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Implement automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages to streamline system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Support enterprise applications by configuring and troubleshooting databases like SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
• Oversee network security configurations including firewalls, VPNs, DNS settings, DHCP services, and active directory management to safeguard IT infrastructure.
• Conduct performance tuning and system troubleshooting for operating systems including Windows Server (various versions), Linux distributions, UNIX systems, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on solution architecture projects involving microservices architecture, RESTful API integrations, DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines), and system design enhancements.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations using configuration management tools such as Git or Ansible while adhering to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) standards.
• Monitor system health through load balancing techniques and performance metrics to optimize uptime and responsiveness across all infrastructure components.
• Provide service guidance and remediate Tier II escalations for service.

• Proven experience in system administration for enterprise environments with a focus on server management across Windows Server (including Active Directory), Linux/Unix platforms, VMware ESXi or other virtualization technologies.
• Strong background in storage management solutions involving RAID controllers, SAN/NAS systems, backup/recovery strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python or JavaScript for automation purposes.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure along with containerization tools such as Kubernetes or Docker.
• Knowledge of network security protocols including VPNs, firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto Networks), DNS/DHCP configuration; understanding of information security best practices is essential.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications utilizing SQL Server (T-SQL), MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle databases; knowledge of RESTful APIs is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to operating systems, hardware failures (including RAID array issues), load balancing challenges or network connectivity problems.
• Demonstrated understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), DevOps principles including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
