Job description

  • Support the transition from decentralized data management practices to a federated data governance framework across the R&D organization.
  • Manage reference data and controlled vocabularies while understanding how they relate to existing taxonomies and ontologies.
  • Onboard reference data and controlled vocabularies into the Top Quadrant Edge platform.
  • Partner with data owners, governance leads, business owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to establish governance roles and responsibilities.
  • Communicate governance strategies and initiatives to senior leadership, including VP-level stakeholders within R&D.
  • Advocate for data governance best practices and educate teams on the value of a federated governance model.
  • Apply FAIR data principles to improve data discoverability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability.
  • Manage relationships across numerous data domains and stakeholders in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
  • Help establish governance standards, documentation, and scalable processes across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in data governance, master data management, metadata management, or a related field, preferably within a large pharmaceutical organization.
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research environments with an understanding of industry-specific vocabularies and taxonomies.
  • Strong experience with reference data management, controlled vocabularies, metadata, taxonomies, and ontologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with executive-level stakeholders, including VP-level leadership.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and data domains.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, concise messaging.
  • Must be able to work Eastern Time Zone business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Top Quadrant Edge for vocabulary and reference data management.
  • Experience implementing or supporting enterprise data governance programs.
  • Knowledge of FAIR data principles and enterprise governance best practices.
  • Experience supporting Research & Development or Clinical organizations within the pharmaceutical industry., * How many years of experience do you have working in data governance?
