Job description

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a Programmer Analyst in our Information Technology department. The Programmer Analyst provides computing solutions using Desktop and Web Applications, Database and Operating System Programming Software. The position reports to the Executive Director of Information Technology and receives day-to day direction regarding project assignments, workload, and operational matters from the Manager of IT Administrative Computing Services., * Develops, tests, implements, and maintains software applications, system integrations, reports, and technology solutions that support institutional operations.

  • Configures, maintains, and enhances forms, workflows, and business processes within enterprise applications and related systems.
  • Collaborates with end users to analyze business requirements, evaluate feasibility, and design technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develops functional and technical specifications for application development, system enhancements, integrations, and reporting solutions.
  • Troubleshoots, analyzes, and resolves application, data, and system issues; collaborates with functional users and vendors to identify, implement, and support effective solutions.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation and provides training, guidance, and support to end users on technology solutions and business processes.
  • Monitors application performance, data integrity, and system functionality and recommends improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Information Technology.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Coursework or professional experience in computer science, information systems, software development, or a related field
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting software applications
  • Experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries in a relational database environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as React JS, Python, JavaScript, or PL/SQL
  • Experience developing reports or dashboards using reporting and analytics tools
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner, DegreeWorks, Argos or other enterprise information systems
  • Experience supporting administrative or academic systems in a higher education environment

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
