Job description

We are seeking a Software Systems Engineer to design and support a unified automation ecosystem that spans cloud and on-prem environments. This role focuses on integrating Terraform, Ansible, and OpenShift into a cohesive platform that enables consistent infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and application deployment. The ideal candidate will bridge gaps between infrastructure and application platforms, ensuring seamless automation and operational consistency across hybrid environments., * Design and implement integrated automation solutions using Terraform (provisioning), Ansible (configuration), and OpenShift (container orchestration)

  • Build and maintain hybrid cloud/on-prem platforms, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environments
  • Develop and support CI/CD and GitOps pipelines that deploy infrastructure and applications end-to-end
  • Collaborate across teams to align infrastructure provisioning with application deployment needs
  • Integrate observability, security, and secrets management across all layers of the platform
  • Troubleshoot issues spanning infrastructure, configuration management, and container platforms
  • Provide guidance and documentation to support adoption of integrated automation workflows
  • Support VMware and Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms as part of the overall hybrid ecosystem
  • Participate in on-call support for cross-platform issues impacting infrastructure and applications

Requirements

  • Deep experience with Terraform, Ansible, and OpenShift, including how they work together to provision, configure, and operate infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end automation workflows, from infrastructure provisioning (Terraform) to configuration management (Ansible) to application orchestration (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
  • Experience building and supporting hybrid environments, ensuring consistency between cloud and on-prem platforms
  • CI/CD and GitOps experience integrating Terraform, Ansible, and OpenShift deployments into automated pipelines
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for cross-platform automation and troubleshooting
  • Experience with observability (Prometheus, Grafana) to monitor both infrastructure and container platforms
  • Knowledge of security and access controls (RBAC, SSO, secrets management) across infrastructure and Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • Strong infrastructure foundation (networking, storage, databases, DNS) with the ability to support full-stack automation workflows, * Experience designing and implementing hybrid automation architectures using Terraform, Ansible, and OpenShift together
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift in both cloud and on-prem environments
  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD) or OpenShift certification
  • Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, or Flux to support GitOps deployments on OpenShift
  • Familiarity with policy-as-code and governance across hybrid platforms
  • Experience supporting stateful workloads (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) in Kubernetes/OpenShift environments

Soft Skills

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across infrastructure, platform, and application teams
  • Ability to connect workflows between provisioning, configuration, and container platforms
  • Ownership mindset for reliability, scalability, and documentation across hybrid systems
  • Comfortable working in complex, evolving environments with shared responsibilities, * Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in software systems engineering, with a focus on infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform operations
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience administering automation or IaC platforms (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
