Job description

To support our new chip releases and SDK product, we are seeking an enthusiastic Embedded Software Engineer to join our HQ in the Netherlands. You will work at the intersection of embedded software and semiconductor development, gaining direct exposure to what is “under the hood” in hardware systems and edge AI., * Designing, implementing, maintaining, and testing embedded software components (e.g. device drivers or other software systems of equivalent complexity);

  • Debugging and resolving complex issues in embedded systems, and performing root cause investigations for bugs, utilizing tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and hardware debuggers;
  • Planning software development activities, breaking larger work packages into tasks, estimating effort, and ensuring that planned items are delivered on time and at the required quality;
  • Providing consultation on development strategy and assessing related risks and technical gaps as early as possible;
  • Promoting best engineering practices and demonstrating sufficient knowledge and expertise in one’s own developments;
  • Developing requirements for embedded software components of all complexity levels;
  • Implementing and maintaining tests for embedded software (e.g., embedded test programs, scripts);
  • Collaborating with engineers of different disciplines in requirements and design activities related to embedded software (e.g., application development, hardware development)., Whether you’re passionate about microarchitecture, excited by verification or physical design, driven by supporting operations, building strong teams, or mastering the details of accounting, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements

  • MSc or BSc degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent;
  • 3+ years of experience in Embedded Software development with the C programming language;
  • Experience with Version Control Systems, especially Git and Gitlab;
  • Experience in HIL testing for embedded targets with a hardware debugger or other tools;
  • Experience with requirements tools.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Previous experience working in the semiconductor industry;
  • Good understanding of assembly language for RISC architectures, especially RISC-V;
  • Experience with working with Python;
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts, Artificial Intelligence, and Artificial Neural Networks;
  • Experience with Mixed-signal Integrated Circuit development processes;
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electrical circuits.
