Job description

The world’s most regulated firms can’t afford to get compliance wrong. VoxSmart exists to make sure they don’t have to worry about it.

VX1 is the unified communications compliance and governance ecosystem for the world’s most regulated firms. One platform. Every channel. Every workflow. We capture, monitor, reconstruct and archive every regulated communication - across voice, mobile, messaging, chat, email and collaboration - under a single data layer. Nothing missed. Nothing lost.

We turn the noise of a thousand alerts into one intelligent insight, so compliance teams act on what matters, ignore what doesn’t, and can defend every decision. Our approach is simple: data led, AI enhanced, human controlled.

Built on 10+ years of operator-grade experience, we are trusted by some of the world’s most demanding financial institutions across major global markets - Tier-1 banks, broker-dealers, asset managers and commodities firms across 45+ geographies. And we are growing fast.

We are now building the operating infrastructure to match our ambition. That means embedding AI into the way we work - not as a feature, but as a foundation. We are looking for an AI Engineer to help us get there.

The Opportunity

THE CONTEXT

VoxSmart has developed a clear AI Operating Model: a blueprint for how the business runs at scale. The model is built on human-AI collaboration - AI executing repeatable tasks while humans frame problems, direct work, orchestrate workflows, apply judgement and supervise outcomes. Processes are being redesigned as AI-driven workflows. Teams are organising around outcomes rather than functions.

This is not a conceptual exercise. The model is in motion, and we need someone to help make it real.

THE MANDATE

  • Map, design and automate workflows across the business - translating how teams work today into AI-enabled processes that are faster, leaner and more repeatable.
  • Build and deploy AI agents and automation that shift tasks across the maturity curve: from human-only, to AI-assisted, to AI-supported, to AI-led.
  • Work closely with the Head of Business Enablement to identify where AI can remove friction, reduce manual effort and free people to focus on higher-value work.
  • Embed AI tooling where it has the clearest impact - and help the business build the habits to use it well.

The Role

This is an early-career role for someone with genuine AI fluency and a practical mindset. You do not need years of experience. You need to understand how AI systems work, have a feel for where automation creates real value, and be comfortable moving between business context and technical execution.

You will sit within the Data function and report to the Head of Data, with a dotted line to the Head of Business Enablement. In practice, this means you will move across teams - understanding how people work, mapping their processes and building solutions that make those processes faster and smarter.

This is not a back-office engineering role. You will work with real business problems, work closely with colleagues across every function, and see the impact of what you build. If you want to learn fast and have your work matter from day one, this is that opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Map workflows across the business - documenting how tasks currently flow, identifying bottlenecks, manual steps and automation opportunities.
  • Design and build AI-enabled workflows and automation pipelines, working with LLMs, AI agents and no-code/low-code tools where appropriate.
  • Work with teams across VoxSmart to understand their day-to-day processes and translate those into structured, automated workflows.
  • Prototype and test automation solutions rapidly - learning from what works, iterating quickly and being pragmatic about what to build versus buy.
  • Support the rollout of AI tooling across the business, including helping colleagues understand and adopt new ways of working.
  • Contribute to the development of VoxSmart’s AI Operating Model in practice - tracking what’s been automated, what’s in progress and where the next opportunities are.
  • Stay close to developments in AI tooling and agents, bringing relevant new capabilities to the team’s attention and helping evaluate them.

Requirements

  • AI fluency - a solid understanding of how large language models and AI agents work, what they are good at and where they fall short. You do not need to have built production AI systems; you do need to understand the technology well enough to use it practically.
  • A workflow and process mindset - natural curiosity about how things work, a habit of looking for steps that could be faster or removed, and the ability to translate messy business processes into clean, structured logic.
  • Comfort with automation tooling - experience with at least some of: prompt engineering, AI agent frameworks, workflow automation platforms (such as Make, n8n, Zapier or similar), APIs and scripting (Python or equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills - the ability to talk to non-technical colleagues, ask good questions, explain what you’re building and why, and help people understand and trust the tools you put in front of them.
  • A bias for action - you would rather build a rough prototype and learn from it than spend weeks planning. You move quickly, take feedback well and are not precious about your solutions.
  • Collaborative by nature - this role sits at the intersection of Data and Business Enablement, which means working across the organisation constantly. You need to enjoy that.
  • A degree or equivalent grounding in a relevant discipline - computer science, data science, AI, engineering or similar - or demonstrable practical experience that gives you the foundations to do the job., * Bachelor’s (required)
