Requirements
Youâre someone who loves building things.
You enjoy taking an idea from a conversation to a working prototype and then refining it into something people rely on every day.
Youâre naturally curious, constantly exploring new AI capabilities and excited about how emerging technologies can improve businesses.
You balance technical depth with commercial thinking-you donât just ask âCan we build this?â but âShould we?â and âWill it make a difference?â
Youâre comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and can explain complex AI concepts in plain English.
Most importantly, youâre motivated by impact rather than hype.
What Youâll Bring
Weâre open to different backgrounds, but youâll likely have experience with many of the following:
- Building applications using modern Large Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or open-source alternatives).
- Python and modern software engineering practices.
- AI APIs, SDKs and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex or similar.
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases and semantic search.
- AI agents, workflow automation and orchestration.
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- REST APIs and integration with enterprise applications.
- Prompt engineering, evaluation and optimisation.
- Git, CI/CD and deploying production applications.
- Understanding of AI governance, security, privacy and responsible AI principles.
Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, Model Context Protocol (MCP), knowledge graphs or enterprise search technologies would be an advantage-but isnât essential.
About the company
At Vix Technology, weâre transforming the way millions of people move around the world.
Our technology powers public transport systems in more than 200 cities worldwide, helping operators deliver smarter, more connected journeys. But weâre just as passionate about transforming how we work.
Artificial Intelligence is changing every part of modern business. Weâre not interested in experimenting for experimentationâs sake-weâre focused on using AI to solve real business problems, improve productivity and create better experiences for our employees and customers.
Thatâs where you come in.
Weâre looking for an AI Engineer to help shape the future of AI at Vix. This is an opportunity to build the internal AI capability of a global technology company from the ground up, working across every business function to identify opportunities, develop intelligent applications and embed AI into the way we work every day.
If youâre excited by rapidly evolving technology, love building practical solutions and want your work to have visible impact across an entire organisation, weâd love to meet you.
The Opportunity
As our AI Engineer, youâll be responsible for accelerating AI adoption across Vix.
Youâll partner with teams across Engineering, Product, Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Operations to understand how they work today-and design AI-powered solutions that help them work smarter tomorrow.
Youâll build an internal suite of AI applications, copilots and automations that eliminate repetitive work, improve decision-making and unlock new ways of working. Some solutions may leverage commercial AI platforms, while others will be custom-built using modern LLM frameworks, APIs and cloud technologies.
This isnât a research role.
Itâs about taking great ideas and turning them into production-ready tools that people genuinely enjoy using.
Youâll become the organisationâs technical expert on AI, helping define best practice, evaluate emerging technologies and ensure AI is deployed responsibly, securely and effectively.
What Youâll Be Doing
Youâll spend your time identifying opportunities where AI can make the biggest difference and rapidly turning those ideas into working solutions., This is an opportunity to shape the future of AI within a global technology company.
Rather than joining an established AI team, youâll play a leading role in defining how AI is adopted across the organisation. Your work will influence every department, every employee and, ultimately, how we deliver better solutions for our customers.
Youâll have the freedom to experiment, the support to innovate and the opportunity to build AI capabilities that genuinely transform the business.
If youâre excited by solving meaningful problems with AI-and want to help create one of the most AI-enabled businesses in our industry-weâd love to hear from you.
Make the Connection. Build the Future.
