Job description
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fibre optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode).
- Install network cabinets, patch panels, containment, and associated infrastructure.
- Carry out cable testing and fault finding using Fluke or equivalent testing equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, floor plans, and network schematics.
- Complete installations to industry standards while ensuring quality workmanship.
- Work independently or as part of a team to deliver projects safely, on time, and within specification.
- Maintain accurate installation records, test results, and project documentation.
- Liaise professionally with customers, site managers, and project teams throughout installations.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and site procedures.
Requirements
Our client is a well-established and growing structured cabling specialist, delivering high-quality network infrastructure solutions across the North East, throughout the UK, and occasionally across Europe. Due to continued business growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Data Cabling Engineer to join their expanding team., * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in structured data cabling installations.
- Experience installing and testing copper and fibre optic cabling.
- Competent in cable termination, testing, and fault diagnosis.
- Familiarity with Fluke Networks or similar cable certification equipment.
- ECS or CSCS Card (essential).
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Willingness to travel across the North East, with occasional nationwide and European travel when required.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive approach to work.

- SSSTS (for engineers with supervisory experience), * Structured Data Cabling: Minimum 2 years (Required)
