Business Systems Manager

As Business Systems Manager, you will be responsible for maximising the value delivered from Stonegate Farmers’ portfolio of business-critical applications, including ERP, CRM, agricultural systems, data platforms, and future technology solutions.

Reporting to the IT Director, you will lead the Business Systems team and oversee relationships with key third-party support partners, ensuring systems are reliable, effective, and aligned with business objectives. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, taking ownership of business analysis, solution scoping, process improvement, and system enhancement activities across the organisation.

Working closely with stakeholders at all levels, you will identify opportunities to optimise business processes, improve system performance, and drive technology-enabled change that supports both operational efficiency and long-term business growth., * Lead, develop and manage the Business Systems team, ensuring effective prioritisation, performance and support delivery.

• Own and optimise Stonegate’s portfolio of business-critical applications, including JD Edwards (ERP), Salesforce (CRM), Chronicle (HRS) and other key platforms.
• Act as the primary link between the business and IT, gathering requirements and translating operational needs into effective system solutions.
• Drive business process improvement through analysis, solution design and technology-enabled change.
• Develop and maintain application roadmaps, ensuring systems remain aligned with business objectives and future growth plans.
• Manage relationships with third-party support providers and managed service partners, ensuring high levels of service and value delivery.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver business transformation projects and strategic technology initiatives.
• Lead system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) and implementation activities to support successful change adoption.
• Support the development of Stonegate’s data and reporting capabilities, ensuring systems deliver accurate, reliable and accessible information.
• Ensure business systems are secure, well-documented, compliant and governed effectively, with a focus on data quality, business continuity and continuous improvement.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience leading and developing teams while remaining actively involved in business analysis and project delivery.
• Strong experience supporting, managing and improving ERP or other enterprise business systems (JD Edwards experience would be advantageous but is not essential).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for process and system improvement.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how technology can support business performance and growth.
• Experience gathering requirements, drafting functional specifications and translating business needs into effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across operational, commercial, finance, agriculture and IT functions.
• The confidence to challenge assumptions, influence decision-making and develop practical, deliverable solutions.
• The ability to balance competing priorities across operational support, system enhancement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• A pragmatic approach to technology, recognising that successful outcomes often require process and people changes as well as systems improvements.
• Experience working with third-party suppliers and support partners to deliver high-quality service and value.
• Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, food production or entrepreneurial business environment.
