Job description

  • Design, build, and maintain back-end systems, databases, and server-side logic for company and client websites
  • Develop and integrate front-end features using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, NextJS, Fastify or Angular)
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing websites and applications
  • Ensure websites are optimised for performance, security, and scalability
  • Collaborate with marketing and design colleagues to translate business and campaign requirements into technical solutions
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure GDPR compliance across all web systems handling lead data
  • Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and industry best practices
  • Support ongoing maintenance, updates, and hosting management of live sites

Requirements

GCSE/A-Level (or equivalent)

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; relevant industry certifications (e.g. AWS, JavaScript frameworks)

Experience

Minimum 3+ years’ proven experience as a Web Developer or Software Engineer, with essential back-end development experience

Skills

Strong proficiency in a JavaScript framework (React, Vue, NextJS, Fastify or Angular); solid back-end development skills (e.g. Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar); database management (SQL/NoSQL); version control (Git)

UI/UX design awareness; API integration experience; DevOps/hosting knowledge

Technical test / Interview / Portfolio review

Knowledge

Understanding of web security best practices, GDPR, and data protection principles

Knowledge of SEO principles and digital marketing fundamentals, * GDPR & Data Protection Awareness
