Senior / Staff Medical Firmware Engineer

We re looking for a Senior or Staff level Firmware Engineer to lead the design and development of safety critical embedded software, shaping both the technical direction and the quality framework that underpins a regulated medical device environment.

The Opportunity You ll take ownership of firmware development for a new class of insulin delivery technology, working at the intersection of engineering, quality, and regulatory compliance. A key success marker in your first year will be establishing robust firmware lifecycle processes and ensuring audit ready documentation and practices.

What You ll Be Doing

• Leading development of safety critical firmware for insulin pump systems
• Defining and improving firmware lifecycle processes, documentation, and audit readiness
• Working closely with Quality, Regulatory, and Systems Engineering teams
• Ensuring compliance with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and medical device development standards
• Contributing to architecture, design reviews, risk management, and verification activities
• Mentoring engineers and supporting best practice adoption across the team

• 5+ years of hands on embedded firmware development
• Experience in regulated or safety critical domains (medical devices preferred but not essential)
• Strong understanding of structured development processes and documentation
• Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, or similar compliance frameworks
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Quality & Regulatory teams
