Acting as the software authority, you will define architecture, set development standards, and ensure software quality, documentation, and regulatory compliance meet medical-grade expectations.
You will work closely with hardware, systems, verification, and regulatory teams, playing a central role in delivering products for hospitals, critical care wards, and frontline clinical environments. This is a key role within a growing medical device organisation, where your decisions will directly influence both product performance and patient outcomes.
Requirements
Medical device or other regulated-industry experience is essential for this role. - Proven experience developing embedded software for medical devices or another regulated industry (e.g. aerospace, automotive safety, or similar safety-critical sectors)
- Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulatory frameworks, such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, IEC 60601, or equivalent
- A strong grasp of the documentation, traceability, and verification rigour required for regulated, safety-critical software development
- Experience collaborating with regulatory, quality, or verification teams as part of the software development lifecycle
- Strong, hands-on senior-level embedded software engineering skills, with the technical credibility to define architecture and set development standards
- Engineers from other safety-critical or regulated backgrounds who are motivated to specialise further in medical technology are welcome to apply, provided they can demonstrate genuine exposure to regulated development practices
