Job description

Join Ontic leading aerospace manufacturer and play a key role in supporting the production of cutting-edge aviation electronics. As an Electronics Test Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the setup, validation, and optimisation of advanced electronic test equipment, ensuring the reliable testing of a diverse range of aerospace systems including fuel measurement, audio communications, propeller control, radar, avionics, cockpit instruments, engine management, and more.

You’ll also use your fault-finding expertise to troubleshoot and debug electronic assemblies (PCBAs) to component level, identify root causes, and help drive continuous product and process improvements. Working closely with Production Engineering, Quality, Sustainment Engineering, Test Equipment Engineering, and external suppliers, this is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical challenges, problem-solving, and contributing to the safety and performance of world-class aerospace products.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you’ll need be an experienced Electronics Technician or Test Engineer with a passion for electronics and problem-solving Ideally, you’ll have gained (or be working towards) an HNC/HND/Degree (or equivalent) qualification in Electronics. While previous experience in the aerospace industry would be an advantage, it’s not essential-we welcome candidates from other high-reliability or electronics manufacturing environments who are eager to apply their skills in aerospace.

You’ll have hands-on experience working with analogue and/or digital electronic products and enjoy supporting production through fault finding, test, and continuous improvement. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate across several departments internally and suppliers externally.

About the company

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for an Electronic Test Engineer to join our Production Engineering team where you’ll support us with our continued success and ambitious growth plans. This role will be based at our Bishop Cleeve, Cheltenham site with occasional travel required for new licenses 1 or 2 weeks in length.
