Job description

Analyze and document business requirements, clinical workflows, and processes for healthcare system integrations.

  • Map data and define interface requirements to support the exchange of clinical and operational data.
  • Design, implement, and maintain reliable system integrations using HL7 and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Collaborate daily with technical and operational teams across EHR, Laboratory, and Ambulatory systems.
  • Hold and maintain valid Bridges Certification; strong knowledge of InterSystems IRIS for health.
  • Utilize experience with EHR-to-Epic conversions and healthcare data integrations.
  • Create business, functional, and technical requirements documents; develop data/process models and flowcharts.
  • Conduct interviews with end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors to assess needs and gather requirements.
  • Define external interfaces, data sources, user types, interface components, and reporting/administrative requirements.
  • Identify and communicate project risks, constraints, and ambiguities; assist in solution development.
  • Partner with project managers to ensure documentation aligns with project schedules.
  • Lead meetings, workgroups, and execute follow-up activities.
  • Ensure all software requirements are met and quality standards are maintained in coordination with QA.
  • Document software test plans, release notes, user guidelines, and training materials.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support user acceptance testing and deployments.
  • Provide end user and application support, including troubleshooting and defect resolution.
  • Develop and deliver project presentations.
  • Mentor and provide training to junior analysts and team members; supervise and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Identify, analyze, and propose process improvements; communicate change strategies.
  • Participate in and lead special projects as required.
  • May be required to work beyond standard hours; approximately 80% remote, up to 20% on-site.
  • Must be able to report to the office within 48 hours as needed.

Requirements

Epic Certification and/or specialty certifications in related areas.

  • Clinical background preferred.
  • Experience with at least two full life-cycle EHR implementations preferred.
  • Master’s or advanced clinical degree with at least 2 years’ relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • 2-5 years’ experience with Epic EMR and clinical applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring project team members.
