Job description

Position Overview: The IT NetworkSystems Administrator will work closely with the IT Architect and report directly to the Director of IT to oversee the design, maintenance, and optimization of Sunnen Products’ internal computer network and infrastructure while providing tier-2/3 support. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless connectivity, robust cybersecurity, and scalable systems to support the company’s growth. The ideal candidate will bring an ownership mindset, hands-on approach to system and network management and a commitment to excellence in service delivery., * Networking Expertise: Design, install, and maintain enterprise-grade network solutions, including core and edge switching, routing, firewalls, wireless access points, and cabling. Optimize and troubleshoot networks to ensure peak performance.

  • InfrastructureServer Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and proactive monitoring of physical and virtual IT infrastructure to ensure global reliability and scalability. Maintain Microsoft Server environments, optimizing disk storage, log files, print queues, and user accounts. Manage operating systems, system backups, and updates. Ensure robust security through virus protection and compliance with IT security standards.
  • User Support and Troubleshooting: Provide hands-on technical support and guidance, addressing user issues via IT helpdesk systems. Configure and support devices such as handheld terminals, wireless headsets, and printers.
  • Application Implementation: Evaluate, implement, and test business-critical software applications, ensuring seamless integration into the IT environment.
  • Email System Administration: Administer and maintain company e-mail systems, including mail servers, configurations, and user accounts, ensuring secure and reliable communication.
  • Remote and Local Connectivity: Set up, configure, and support secure connectivity for remote and local users, including manufacturing environments, while managing user access and permissions.
  • Compliance and Security: Uphold IT security frameworks, ensuring compliance with standards such as NIST, CMMC, PCI DSS, GDPR, and PII. Working with security partners to assess, and mitigate infrastructure vulnerabilities.
  • Project Leadership: Partner across the team to lead or support special IT infrastructure initiatives, driving successful project outcomes from discovery through execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, credentials or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in a network environment, to include systems and network installation and maintenance and user support
  • Experience with CISCO networks
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Server products
  • Experience with virtualization, Azure, Entra, Teams, VOIP, Firewalls and modern
  • Understanding of IT security frameworks and compliance (NIST /CMMC /PCI DSS/ GDPR /PII)
  • Experience and desire to create, build, and grow an organization
  • Positive, results-driven, and collaborative; excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments while managing competing priorities.
  • Flexibility to work required hours to address critical department needs, on-call for emergencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, and Raspberry Pi
  • Experience with Oracle EBS
