Data Converter

At Rural Computer Consultants, Inc. (RCC), our Converters play a critical role in helping fuel companies successfully transition to RCC software. This position combines technical data analysis, customer communication, and problem solving to ensure customers have accurate, reliable data when they go live. Every conversion presents unique challenges, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys digging into data, solving puzzles, and making a direct impact on customer success.

What you’ll do:

• Analyze data structures from a variety of fuel industry software platforms and determine appropriate mapping into RCC via Microsoft Excel/Access databases and various load programs within the software.
• Perform data validation, balancing, and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy of converted data prior to customer go-live.
• Collaborate with onboarding, training, support, development, and quality assurance teams throughout the implementation process.
• Identify data anomalies and work directly with customers to resolve data quality issues.
• Assist customers with understanding conversion results and provide guidance during first-pass and final-pass reviews.
• Develop and maintain conversion utilities, templates, and automation tools to improve conversion efficiency.
• Research and troubleshoot unique customer data scenarios and develop creative solutions.
• Participate in customer onboarding calls and provide conversion status updates.
• Recommend process improvements and contribute to RCC’s conversion best practices and standards.
• Maintain detailed project notes and documentation to support future conversions and internal knowledge sharing.
• Between active conversion projects, assist with customer support, data research, reporting requests, and other analytical projects throughout the organization.

• Experience working with relational databases and understanding database relationships.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access Database, SQL, Quickbooks, PowerBI or other reporting tools
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex data issues.
• Experience using data import/export tools and working with large datasets.
• Ability to balance, reconcile, and validate business-critical financial and operational data.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple conversions simultaneously.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical customers.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
• Experience in the propane, fuel distribution, HVAC, service, or related industries is a plus.
• Knowledge of accounting concepts, customer records, inventory management, delivery operations, or service management is beneficial.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or similar automation tools is a plus.
• A positive attitude and ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism
• A college degree, technical certifications or other equivalent experience
