Job description

  • Work closely with teammates and stakeholders in a Lean Agile environment to deliver production-ready software.
  • Proficiency building frontend applications with React and Next.js using modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience developing backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django; experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express or NestJS is a plus.
  • Build secure, scalable APIs and responsive user experiences that transform complex workflows into intuitive applications.
  • Integrate applications with cloud services, databases, AI services, and third-party APIs.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leverage CI/CD pipelines, containers, and DevSecOps practices to deliver software efficiently, securely, and reliably.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Experience developing production applications in cloud environments; AWS experience preferred.
  • Proficiency building frontend applications with React and Next.js using modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience developing backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous programming, and secure software-development practices.
  • Experience using Git and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, AWS CodeBuild, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical teammates and stakeholders.
  • Primary residence within a two-hour drive of Herndon, Virginia, to support onsite collaboration as needed.

Desired skills:

  • Experience developing backend services with Node.js frameworks such as Express or NestJS.
  • Experience deploying scalable applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AWS services and event-driven architectures, including SNS/SQS, Kinesis, Step Functions, or EventBridge.
  • Experience with frontend and backend testing frameworks such as Vitest, Playwright, and Pytest.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with modern UI tooling such as Storybook, Tailwind CSS, or shadcn/ui.
  • Experience integrating applications with generative AI services, large language models, or agentic AI workflows.
  • Contributions to open-source software, community projects, or personal software projects.

Benefits & conditions

The base salary pay range for this role is $114,000 - $247,900. This range reflects base compensation only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or additional pay incentives associated with the opportunity.
