IT Support Specialist #581

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our technology team. Reporting to the IT Administrator, this role works closely with both the IT Admin and the Network Support Specialist to maintain seamless daily IT operations. This role will support the department by handling employee provisioning, maintaining inventory accuracy, and assist with core IT projects., · Updating and monitoring IT related inventory spreadsheets

· Configuring firewall settings

· Setting up group polices on Active Directory

· Creating PowerShell scripts

· Sending reminders to employees for IT-related tasks

· Assisting in maintaining network inventory of hardware and software, including IT recycling and CUI labeling

· Assisting with setting up new employees

· Performing IT Onboarding

· IT troubleshooting

· Management of the IT Help Desk

· Performing IT audits

· Checking phishing emails

· Performing Intranet and Internet updates

· Blocking IP addresses

· Creating employee badges

· Unlocking user accounts

· Completing updates for laptops and mobile devices

· Running network cables

· Performing other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned

We’re seeking a multi-disciplinary candidate who is self-motivated and is able to set and meet goals., · Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.

· Associate’s degree combined with strong, verifiable work experience will be considered.

· Network+, and/or Security+ certification preferred

Experience:

· 3-5 years of IT experience

Desired Skills:

· Experience working with various operating systems

· Familiar with computer software and hardware

· Proficiency in spreadsheet management

· Knowledge of industry trends

· A+ certification required

· Experience with Active Directory required

· Experience with Firewalls required

· Advanced proficiency in Windows client/server environments

· Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN troubleshooting.

· Exceptional organizational and follow up skills are needed for handling multiple projects.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

· Proficient in Word and Excel.

· Strong analytical skills and root-cause analysis abilities to resolve escalated incidents independently

· Ability to communicate orally and written in a professional manner.

· Ability to work overtime when needed.

Preferred Skills:

· Experience with PowerShell preferred

Physical Requirements Include:

· This position requires the ability to walk, sit, talk and hear, stand, and use hands to reach, handle, or feel.

· Occasional climbing or balancing may be required in lab or field environments.

Position may require the ability to lift up to 15 lbs., stand, walk for long periods of time
