Job description

The EHR Specialist supports the effective use, maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and related technologies. This position serves as a resource to end users by providing training, technical support, workflow guidance, and system expertise to promote efficient operations, quality documentation, regulatory compliance, and organizational goals., * Support the implementation, optimization, maintenance, and ongoing administration of the EHR system.

  • Provide day-to-day technical and functional support to end users, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and system guidance.
  • Analyze, develop, and improve workflows to enhance efficiency, documentation quality, compliance, and user adoption.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, educational materials, and ongoing support for new and existing users.
  • Maintain knowledge of system updates and enhancements and communicate changes to users as appropriate.
  • Assist with system configuration, testing, upgrades, implementations, and other EHR-related projects.
  • Monitor system usage, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions to optimize performance.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, quality initiatives, and documentation improvement efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison between end users, Information Technology, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding EHR-related needs and enhancements.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines., * Minimum of two (2) years of experience delivering end-user training, support, or onboarding in a healthcare or clinical environment.

  • Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; experience with NextGen EHR and Practice Management (PM) systems is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications and effectively train users on system workflows and best practices.
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows and medical terminology.
  • Strong technical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to train and support users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Minimum two years of healthcare or healthcare technology experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel between locations as needed.
